দেশের দ্রুত অর্থনৈতিক প্রবৃদ্ধি, বিশেষ করে শিল্পায়নের মাধ্যমে, বাংলাদেশে বিদেশী বিনিয়োগ আকৃষ্ট করার জন্য সরকার একটি ‘ওপেন ডোর পলিসি’ গ্রহণ করেছে। বেপজা হল ইপিজেডগুলিতে বিদেশী বিনিয়োগের প্রচার, আকৃষ্ট এবং সহজতর করার জন্য সরকারের সরকারী অঙ্গ। এছাড়াও, বেপজা সক্ষম কর্তৃপক্ষ হিসাবে ইপিজেডগুলিতে সুরেলা শ্রম-ব্যবস্থাপনা এবং শিল্প সম্পর্ক বজায় রাখার জন্য কর্মক্ষেত্রে সামাজিক ও পরিবেশগত সমস্যা, সুরক্ষা এবং সুরক্ষা সম্পর্কিত উদ্যোগগুলির সম্মতিগুলির পরিদর্শন ও তত্ত্বাবধান করে। একটি EPZ-এর প্রাথমিক উদ্দেশ্য হল বিশেষ ক্ষেত্রগুলি প্রদান করা যেখানে সম্ভাব্য বিনিয়োগকারীরা কষ্টকর প্রক্রিয়া থেকে মুক্ত একটি অনুকূল বিনিয়োগের পরিবেশ খুঁজে পাবে।
